The company was founded in 1991 by Rupert Emerson, born, and raised in the Comox Valley, establishing the business as a vital component of the local landscape industry. John Watt, a local, began his journey with the business in 1999 when he joined the team. His passion for the industry and commitment soon led him to take a leap of faith and purchase the company.
John poured his heart and soul (and a whole lot of sweat) into Vancouver Island Enterprises, often working 16+ hour days. He grew the business from the ground up, putting everything on the line to turn his dreams into reality and shape Vancouver Island Enterprises into the thriving enterprise it is today.

How much do you need?
We calculate materials by the cubic yard. A cubic yard is equal to 27 cubic feet.
You can use the online calculator to determine how many cubic yards of material are required. As a general guide, 1 cubic yard of aggregate, sand, or dirt is equivalent to 1.5 tons.
